I have to completely agree that this keyboard is the best money can buy. I just switched from the (wired) Natural Mutimedia keyboard to my squeeky new Wireless Desktop Pro combo. Fantastic!

For the "Natural Multimedia" I was using Jason's solution for the f-lock, and thought it was fantastic. However this morning I noticed that it wasn't working for the Wireless Pro. I tried re-running the registry hack and re-booting, but no luck. The REALLY great part was that you couldn't switch the damned things off at all. (Try stepping through VB code with no 'F8' or 'F5' keys! Possible, but frustrating after almost a decade using 'F8') I finally had to delete the scan codes entirely and am now back to remembering to hit the damn thing after I reboot.

BTW: the F Lock key is a physical switch on the keyboard that can't be programatically controlled :(

Whether MS will make it programatically controlable or not remains to be seen. I personally wouldn't count on it anytime soon.

Hi Dave,
While Jason's solution works great in Windows it doesn't actually solve the problem since it doesn't do anything until you get into Windows. My problem is that getting into the BIOS setup or boot menu is difficult because the F-Lock is off by default. Unfortunately it's not as simple as a registry fix. But thanks for adding the links to a Windows trick :-).
